Call for Workshops proposals

Scope

The COMSWARE2009 Organizing Committee invites proposals for one-day workshops that will be held in conjunction with the conference. Workshops will serve as a collaborative forum for presenting and discussing innovative ideas in new generation of middleware for communication systems. We encourage prospective workshop organizers to submit proposals for highly-interactive workshops, where participants can meet and discuss, in a less formal environment than the main conference. Workshop Proposals are solicited in all areas and topics related to communication systems software and middleware, especially relevant to the COMSWARE community.

COMSWARE provides an opportunity for workshops registration, where the participation to workshops is included in the COMSWARE registration. The workshops will be held prior to, or after, the main conference (i.e., on the 14th of June or 20th of June).

Accepted workshop papers may be published in the ACM Digital Library (to be confirmed).

Proposal Submission Guidelines

Each workshop proposal should include the following information:

1. The title of the workshop.

2. A brief description (up to 1 page) of the main topics and technical issues that the workshop will address.

3. Relevance of the workshop to the COMSWARE community, stating the workshop interest to the conference participants.

4. A preliminary version of the call for papers, including the format of the workshop

5. The names, e-mail addresses, affiliation, and a short bio (up to 200 words) of the organizers. Organizers should include relevant past experience in organizing this or similar workshops. In case they propose a new edition of a workshop, please include a description of past versions, the hosted conference, number of submitted and accepted papers, number of attendees, and website link, if available.

6. A list of (proposed and already committed) program committee members

7. Required infrastructure (e.g., Audio/Video equipment, room capacity and layout, etc.), desired workshop day, and expected number of participants
